Why flickr is crack

Flagrant Disregard has come up with another brilliant time sucker. This time, you can take any of your photos posted on flickr and make a magazine cover out of it. See some of the other efforts made by fellow flickrites.

God help us...at least until the next big toy. :-)

Here is what the evening is about in Irina's own words.

The idea of organizing a photo exhibit that would benefit the breast cancer research came to me last year while I was raising money in order to participate to the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. Last year I was selling my prints in the street, but this year I have decided to take this fundraiser one step forward and do something more significant to raise the awareness and in the same time honor survivors and sufferers who had to fight this horrible disease.

Along with 6 Canadian photographers, my teammates, walkers for Weekend
to End Breast Cancer, and friends from the Toronto community, we are going to give this project life and make it a recurrent one. We have named this event "Picture the Cure" because not only it is about photography and showcasing amazing talent, but also because we believe that every dollar raised will bring us one step closer to a cure.

It is extremely important to me and to my teammates because each one of us had or have a family member or a friend who had to battle breast cancer. Some of them made it, some didn't. Life is short and everyone should have the same chances. Breast cancer is not only unfair, but also devastating physically and psychologically. My aim is to prove that our
efforts are not meaningless and together we can make a difference.

Thanks for reading this far, and pass this along to anyone who you think would be interested in purchasing affordable photography for a good cause.

Why?!!!

These are the kinds of things you see in the cheap seats at a professional baseball game. While there was a rather standard femullett a few rows down, the sight of these 3 brothers walking in to their seats in single file brought a hushed awe from me and my companions. The thing I like most is how each tail has a distinctive style that mayhaps be indicative of each boy's personality.

So, we're walking along a crowded Sparks Street on a busy Friday night during the Busker Festival, and come across not on, but two, outdoor shisha cafés. We somehow missed the bigger one on our first pass down the street.
